CatholicCare Hunter-Manning is the official social services agency of the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle.
CatholicCare is a registered not-for-profit, who has worked with the whole community to deliver support services and programs that meet the needs of children, young people, individuals, and families for over sixty years. Across the Hunter-Manning, their work is a combination of government-funded and fee-for-service.
At CatholicCare, they are people-focused and walk alongside those in our community who need a bit of extra support to achieve their goals and live safe and well. To continue the mission of Christ, CatholicCare offers opportunities for growth, healing and hope to all people.
In line with the principles of Catholic social teaching, the foundation of their work is striving for a world where people are fed, housed, safe, healthy and happy, and have positive relationships in their community.
CatholicCare is an inclusive organisation committed to helping everyone in need across our community, regardless of religion, age, gender, sexuality, ethnicity, or disability.
Being responsive to local needs is at the heart of everything CatholicCare does. They pride themselves in their on-the-ground knowledge and building valuable connections for the people they support in every community across our Diocese. The entirety of CatholicCare's support network and ability to cross-refer is what sets them apart.
CatholicCare's multi-disciplinary support services come under the following areas:
The CatholicCare Social Enterprise Program exists to create a positive impact through offering employment pathways for vulnerable people in our community. We currently operate one service within the Hunter region – a café that also offers catering for events.
CatholicCare staff are passionate about working alongside the people they support and focus on developing collaborative, open, honest and transparent relationships to achieve successful outcomes. They support individuals and families to define their goals, identify their strengths and access the resources they need to live life and reach their full potential.
CatholicCare's services are grounded in best practice. Across all areas of their work, the CatholicCare team uses current, evidence-based approaches to inform their program delivery models and seek new and innovative ways to benefit the communities they serve.
