The Sisters of St Joseph, are an Australian congregation founded by Julian Tenison Woods and Australia's first Saint - Mary of the Cross MacKillop.
The Sisters of St Joseph use their energies to assist people wherever they can, with whatever they need. For over a century, Sisters in the region ran schools to help bring quality education to ordinary people, thus opening up opportunities for a better standard of living.
Today, the Sisters can be found ministering with people in a variety of ways, including pastoral roles in schools; as counsellors and psychologists; in retreats and spiritual direction; in parishes; in bereavement ministry; in legal work; in adult faith formation; in pastoral ministry in hospitals, on housing estates, in prisons, with refugees and various forms of community support.
