Foundation Principal appointed to St Aloysius Catholic Primary School
Bishop Bill Wright has approved the appointment of Mrs. Suzanne Fern to the role of Foundation Principal of St Aloysius Catholic Primary School, Chisholm.
Coming to the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle from St Mary’s Primary School, Armidale, Mrs Fern is well placed to lead the newest school in the Diocese in its foundation year, according to Director of Schools, Ray Collins:
“Suzanne is an outstanding Principal, having worked at several catholic primary schools in the Armidale and Lismore regions as well as Diocesan Curriculum Adviser in the Catholic Education Office.”
“Her sound background in formal education including attainment of a Master of Education and Master of Educational Leadership will see her succeed in this exciting new role” Mr Collins said.
Mrs Fern is excited to make the move to the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle, citing the local lifestyle as one of the main draw cards in her decision as she plans to begin in Term 2, 2014:
“I’m looking forward to living and working in such a beautiful region – with the coast close by and the regional centre of Maitland just down the road I think I’ll be getting the best of both worlds!”
“This is a fantastic opportunity for both me personally, but also for the team who will be with me to set up the school from scratch – drawing on our combined experience to provide our students with a superior educational experience from Term 1, 2015.”
“In the coming months, I look forward to meeting with local parents to talk about our plans for 2015 and answer any questions they may have.” Mrs Fern said.
St Aloysius is currently under construction, and will be open to students from Term 1, 2015. Those interested in enrolling their child in St Aloysius for 2015 should contact the Catholic Schools Office on 02 4979 1207 for an enrolment pack.
